Semicon West, one of the most important conference and trade fair events in the global microelectronics industry, covering both design and manufacturing, will not take place on its usual date in mid-July this year. It has been postponed to December 7-9, 2021 due to coronavirus and will be held as a 'hybrid' event, partly as an in-person event at the Moscone Exhibition Center in San Francisco and offered in parallel as a virtual event. As a further innovation, Semicon West will be held at the same time and in the same location as the Design Automation Conference (from December 5 to 7) for the first time.
In addition to the exhibitor area in the Moscone Center, Semicon West will offer the usual keynote, "TechTalk" and "Meet the Experts" sessions - on site and virtually. Dave Anderson, President of Semi Americas, comments: "The co-location of Semicon West and DAC creates a new foundation for faster innovation through face-to-face interactions between attendees from both industry segments."
As planned, Semicon China 2021 will take place from March 17 to 19 at the Shanghai New International Expo Center (SNIEC). Last year, it had to be postponed to the end of June due to coronavirus. 17 German exhibitors will be represented at the official German joint stand.
