inspire, a Swiss competence center for technology transfer to the MEM industry, has opted for the n.jet EHD platform from Notion Systems in combination with Scrona's EHD printing technology for additive manufacturing. Scrona's EHD technology enables not only the smallest structure sizes in the micrometer range, but also the processing of highly viscous materials in the Pascal second range. inspire will use this technology at its St. Gallen site.
As a strategic partner of ETH Zurich, inspire conducts industrial research in the field of product innovation and production technology. Fritz Bircher, Head of Advanced AM Technologies at inspire, explained that Scrona's development of the print engine will bring inspire's laboratory up to date with the latest EHD technology.
Notion Systems, headquartered in Schwetzingen, Baden-Württemberg, is a provider of industrial inkjet printing systems. Notion's n.jet inkjet platform is used for the production of OLED & QLED displays, printed circuit boards, sensors and 3D parts. Scrona is a spin-off from ETH Zurich and has developed a multi-nozzle 3D printing platform that can digitally print with sub-micron precision on any material and at large scale. Scrona's patented electrostatic printing technology is transforming the manufacturing of semiconductors, displays and other products by greatly reducing production steps while cutting material, energy and water consumption.
