MediaTek, a market leader in innovative SoCs for wireless communications and digital media, has selected the ReadyStart Edition of Mentor Graphics' Nucleus real-time operating system (RTOS) for its broad range of chipsets, from 2G to 4G to 5G, for the next generation of its cellular modem technologies. The Nucleus RTOS platform supports the corresponding system and application workflows and has the appropriate middleware and hardware support (MCUs, DSPs, FPGAs, MPUs) for the fast and efficient creation of complex systems. Nucleus ReadyStart RTOS combines an integrated software IP, tools and services in an end-to-end 'ready-to-use' platform to accelerate the development of embedded solutions. It also provides toolchain integration with Mentor's Sourcery software tools for all phases of development. MediaTek's requirements extended to Hard Affinity SMP (symmetrical multiprocessing) to optimize cache performance on critical tasks and Soft Affinity to maximize cache benefits with a single core.
