Dage, part of Nordson Electronics Solutions, has received the 2020 NPI Award in the 'Test and Inspection - AXI' category for the X-Ray Component Counter Assure. The award was presented on February 4 during the IPC Apex Expo at the San Diego Convention Center.
In assembly production, it is important to know the exact stock levels in the ERP system at all times. The Assure component counter developed for this purpose helps to minimize SMT line downtimes, multiple setups or expensive additional component procurement, among other things.
Intelligent algorithms and a self-learning database enable the operator to count even unknown components quickly and easily. The X-ray scanner counts components in a matter of seconds. A single container is counted within 10 seconds, the quad count (counting of four containers) within 15 seconds. The component counter validates the counting results immediately by means of a plausibility check and achieves a counting accuracy of over 99.9% (for almost all components available on the market).
The NPI Award, which was presented for the first time in 2008, is an annual award for outstanding products in electronic component assembly.
