The PAUL Award of the Fachverband Elektronikdesign und -fertigung e. V. (FED) was presented for the third time in Berlin.
Peter Heynmöller was awarded first place for his 'Power Distribution Unit' project. The jury awarded second place to Hanna Lieding for her lighting system with communication and synchronization capabilities. Tim Mattern impressed the judges with his project 'Makropad' and took third place.
The PAUL Award is a competition for young people between the ages of 15 and 25 who creatively tackle a technical task from the world of electronics. The award is named after the engineer Paul Eisler (1907-1992), who is considered the inventor of the printed circuit board.
The award ceremony took place on December 1, 2023 at the Spreespeicher, a trendy event location in Berlin. 70 guests from Germany, Austria and Switzerland celebrated the young electronics talents who had participated with ten selected projects. The event provided ample opportunity for exchange between established FED members and up-and-coming talent, as well as between representatives of the 'next generation' themselves.
Guests and organizers alike confirmed that the award has now found its format after the difficult conditions of the Corona period. It is well on the way to establishing itself as an important event for the recruitment and rejuvenation of young talent in the electronics industry.
