Printed circuit board manufacturer promotes dual study programs

Dual study programs can make it easier for young people to decide what they want to study or whether studying is even an option for them.

The printed circuit board manufacturer ILFA has now set itself the goal of preparing future specialists through dual study courses on site. In cooperation with universities of applied sciences in Hanover, ILFA is currently offering two dual courses of study:

  • The training-integrated dual study program leading to a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology with the Hanover University of Applied Sciences and Arts
  • as well as the dual study program leading to a Bachelor of Science in IT Security with Leibniz University of Applied Sciences and Arts

The first includes full vocational training as an electronics technician for industrial engineering. There is also a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology. This means that the course lasts a total of four and a half to five years.

The total duration of the dual course of study for a Bachelor of Science in IT Security is three years and covers subjects such as programming and software systems, distribution of information in computer networks, identifying weak points in IT and dealing with security emergencies in IT.

With this program, the PCB manufacturer aims to counteract the shortage of skilled workers in the German electrical industry in particular, the second-largest industrial sector after mechanical engineering.
