The flexible and printed electronics industry remains on course for growth despite difficult economic conditions.

According to the latest business climate survey by the OE-A (Organic and Printed Electronics Association), around 60% of companies expect sales to increase by 2025, with an average increase of around 7%. This is a slightly more cautious assessment than in spring, when 77% still expected growth.

The industry is reacting to geopolitical uncertainties and the weak automotive industry by holding back on investments. More than half of the companies surveyed are planning to reduce their production investments.

However, more positive expectations are emerging again for 2026. Companies are expecting turnover growth of 14% and significantly improved employment prospects. Around 30% of companies intend to hire additional staff in the coming months. At the same time, 74% are stepping up their research and development activities - a significant increase compared to the last survey.

Overall, the sector remains cautious, but is showing clear signs of recovery and a willingness to innovate in the coming year.
