The PCB manufacturer Schoeller Electronics Systems could not be saved despite a targeted and active search for investors. "The last remaining interested party has now also informed us that it is withdrawing from the bidding process," said insolvency administrator Dr. Michael Lojowsky in a press release.
In consultation with the creditors' committee, he therefore felt compelled to discontinue business operations. According to current plans, the production process will end by 31 January 2020 at the latest. After Dr Lojowsky was appointed as the so-called 'strong insolvency administrator' at the beginning of May (PLUS reported), he and interim managing director Felix Hick succeeded in stabilizing the company during the proceedings. However, it was clear from the outset that Schoeller Electronics could not continue in the medium and long term without a strategic partner, according to Lojowsky. Together with the auditing firm Deloitte, investors were sought worldwide. Negotiations have been held with several interested parties in recent weeks - unfortunately without success. The approximately 180 employees have already been informed of the closure and the resulting redundancies.
