NORTEC in Hamburg has been moved from its original January date to the turn of May/June. On the 4 days of the trade fair from May 31, the campus concept already tested in 2020 will be significantly expanded once again. Electronics manufacturing plays an important role in this - the FED is organizing focal points on the second and third days of the trade fair and the VDMA is contributing workshops. Multi Components will also be among the exhibitors with an enlarged area where production modules for stencil printing, assembly and inspection will be shown.
Bernd Aufderheide, CEO of Hamburg Messe und Congress GmbH, comments on the success of the Campus concept in 2020 and the reasons for expanding it even further: "More than half of the visitors in 2020 stated that they had gathered information at the auditorium. 86% of those who took part in the Auditorium rated the program as 'very good'. This has motivated us to further expand this direct opportunity to share experiences." This decision obviously meets the needs of potential visitors: three months before the start of this year's event, there were already more inquiries for the round table discussions than in 2020.
The Round Tables are one of four main Campus formats. They take place in Hall A1 and offer the opportunity for in-depth discussions on various industry topics. From AI integration in companies with the Artificial Intelligence Center Hamburg (ARIC) e.V., the Europe Speech Days of the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN), Start Up Matchmaking with Munich Milan to automated determination of manufacturing costs with simus systems GmbH. Also in A1, the Auditorium forms the heart of NORTEC. This is where the open conference stage will host the industry discussion, among other things. Numerous partners of the trade fair are on board here: FED e.V., Fraunhofer IPT, HAW Hamburg, Mittelstand-Digital Zentrum Hamburg provide detailed insights into the capabilities of the industry. The Speakers' Corner in A4 provides space for best-practice examples from exhibitors. Industry expertise will be shared in short presentations. The BME Buyers' Day of the German Association of Materials Management, Purchasing and Logistics (BME) will also take place here on June 2. At the VDMA workshops, participants can focus on the current challenges facing the manufacturing industry away from the hustle and bustle of the trade fair. On three days of the trade fair, the association invites participants to transfer knowledge from the field. On Friday from 11:30 to 13:00, the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology will present its application-oriented vision of the future of manufacturing technology for the first time in the auditorium. Two presentations will focus on "Sustainability at your fingertips - additive manufacturing and digitalization for SMEs." They will discuss how SMEs are succeeding in implementing the socially required sustainability in their day-to-day work and how this is leading to a transformation towards flexible and resilient manufacturing with new growth prospects.
The exhibits from Multi Components (A1, 500E) include three noteworthy devices for cost-effective manufacturing options: The US 7000X stencil printer offers particular advantages for smaller batches and small designs. The Hanwha SM 485 flex placement machine offers a placement capacity of 22,000 BT/h of standard components and can also place tall, bulky and large components. The TR 7700QSII from TRI with five high-resolution cameras including 3D measurement provides "shadow-free automatic optical inspection". The exhibitor distributes these and other devices in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
