Peer-to-peer platform for trading component stocks

Together with the industry association IPC, the provider of supply chain solutions for electronics manufacturing CalcuQuote is presenting a beta version of the online marketplace StockCQ. The peer-to-peer platform for OEM and EMS companies is used for direct trading of component stocks. According to the announcement, the collaboration between CalcuQuote and IPC enables a rapid response to the current shortage of components. Previously, discussions with more than 75 industry executives revealed that a fair way of directly exchanging stock can help mitigate the effects of the parts shortage. StockCQ acts as a global stockroom where electronics manufacturers can virtually store their surplus stock. These can be searched and purchased directly by other electronics manufacturers.

According to studies, the number of cases in which supply chains reported sufficient stocks has fallen by more than 20%. At the same time, in 30% of cases, these components were reported as surplus by other companies. StockCQ can help on the basis of this phenomenon. The willingness to participate is correspondingly high, as discussions with over 100 electronics manufacturers have shown. In just two weeks, dozens of them have started to list their surplus stocks. The matches of these listings with hard-to-source parts are clear.

"IPC and our EMS Industry Council are therefore very pleased to enable the collaboration between CalcuQuote and EMS/OEM companies," said Mark Wolfe, IPC Executive EMS Advisor. "StockCQ will become the trusted digital community for OEM and EMS companies to trade fairly with their peers," says Chintan Sutaria, CEO of CalcuQuote. Participation in the beta version of StockCQ is by invitation for all electronics manufacturers
