TU Graz launches qualification program in the field of Electronic Based Systems

The Austrian Federal Ministry for Digital and Economic Affairs is funding the interdisciplinary programme with around €900,000. Partners from the domestic electronics industry are thus able to train personnel to become certified EBS specialists.

Electronic-based systems (EBS) are components, devices and systems with micro- and nanoelectronics and the associated embedded software. These systems form the basis for many digital products, e.g. in autonomous vehicles, smart home solutions or intelligent machines. In addition to specialist knowledge, the development of such technologies requires above all cross-sectional expertise in the areas of hardware, embedded software and electronics-based systems.
Under the leadership of the Institute of Electronics at Graz University of Technology, an 'innovation course' was developed as a pilot together with twenty partners from industry, science and business. Against the backdrop of highly dynamic research and increasing competition from Asia and the USA, 67 employees from the partner companies involved in the course will be trained from February 2020 to July 2023 to become certified EBS specialists with expertise in innovation management.
After completion of the pilot on July 31, 2023, the course is to be included in the portfolio of TU Graz Life Long Learning, the service facility for continuing education at TU Graz, and will be open to all interested persons outside the partner companies.
