Waldemar Christen is to become the new Vice President CRM and will head up global customer relationship management in the SMT Solutions business segment at the world's largest equipment manufacturer for the electronics industry, ASM Pacific Technology. The Augsburg native has been in charge of Global Service since 2015 and in his new role will now also be responsible for Global Sales and Global Marketing. Waldemar Christen began his professional career after studying mechanical engineering, specializing in precision engineering, in the R&D department at Siemens, where he held further positions in sales and as Head of Product Management Europe until 2007. He returned to ASM in 2015 after holding management positions at the electronics manufacturer BMK.
"We are already the first port of call when it comes to Integrated Smart Factory. Our portfolio of hardware and software solutions through to comprehensive factory solutions is growing continuously. At the same time, customer requirements are becoming increasingly individualized. Remote technologies as well as new models such as rental licences, cloud software or contracts based on performance promises in terms of quality or output are placing new, complex demands on the CRM organization. In short: I am looking forward to this new task - also and especially because I know the quality of the SMT Solutions team at ASMPT," said Waldemar Christen when he was introduced as the new VP CRM.
The technology leader ASM bundles the areas of marketing, sales and service and thus all global teams with direct customer contact under the leadership of the Vice President CRM in order to ensure optimal customer support. Waldemar Christen takes over these tasks from Josef Ernst, who will be responsible as COO (Chief Operating Officer) of ASMPT SMT Solutions in future.
