DENIOS SE, the Bad Oeynhausen-based expert in the storage of hazardous substances and safety in the workplace, has had its successful series of RFP SD fire protection storage systems with fire-protected sliding doors patented. In addition, the RFP (Rack Fire Protect) and WFP (Walk in Fire Protect) product families now meet all the necessary legal criteria to be approved for the European market: This has been officially sealed by ETA approval since January 2022. Overall, these developments represent milestones in the storage of hazardous materials and ensure that DENIOS remains at the forefront of the belt protection storage sector.
The RFP SD (Sliding Doors) equipment variant introduced in 2020 for the storage of water-polluting and flammable substances impresses users with its many advantages: In addition to better space and storage utilization in the hazardous materials warehouse through the use of sliding doors instead of hinged doors, the design offers protection against wind loads and the option of electrical operation by remote control - for example from a forklift truck. A security lock operated by RFID tag also protects against unauthorized access. In the event of a fire in the warehouse, the doors close automatically.
120 minutes of fire protection in an emergency
DENIOS has developed the fire protection doors in-house and tested them for maximum safety: For example, the doors comply with EN 14351 for manually operated doors, which means that they have been tested for closing speeds, tensile forces to be applied and protective measures. Equipped with them, the RFP SD also meets the strictest European fire protection standard (REI 120) and can therefore withstand a fire for not just 60 or 90 minutes, but a full 120 minutes. This was proven in a fire protection test with the French institute for fire protection, Efectis. This makes DENIOS the only manufacturer in the world to meet this standard.
WFP and RFP fire protection bearings receive European CE marking
By obtaining the European Technical Assessment (ETA) for the DENIOS WFP and RFP fire protection bearings, DENIOS is also opening up further to the European market. With the ETA 21/0642 document and the associated CE marking, the WFP and RFP fire-protected room systems from DENIOS are the first construction products of their kind to meet the ETA criteria. This certification provides customers from all over Europe with a certificate confirming that the fire protection storage system they have purchased complies with the law, thus significantly simplifying the approval process and their arguments to property insurers.
