In April 2019, Erich Arnet, long-time sales representative at Umicore Galvanotechnik GmbH (formerly Degussa AG), Managing Director of the Z.O.G. (Center for Surface Technology) and Scientific Advisory Board member of Leuze Verlag, celebrated his 60th birthday. Born in Switzerland, he began his professional
training as a chemical laboratory technician in 1976 at Blaser AG in Malters, a hard chrome plating company in central Switzerland. In 1980, he completed his training as a state-certified electroplating technician at the technical college in Schwäbisch Gmünd. Erich Arnet expanded his technical knowledge with a commercial apprenticeship and obtained a commercial diploma at the HVL (Lucerne School of Commerce and Administration) in 1982.
Erich Arnet has been employed by Umicore Galvanotechnik GmbH since 1984 and is an expert in the field of precious metal electroplating and electroforming. Now working in technical sales, he has been supporting the company's customers worldwide with his specialist knowledge for 12 years.
In 2000, Erich Arnet took on the role of Managing Director at the Centre for Surface Technology in Schwäbisch Gmünd (Z.O.G.), focusing on the organization of seminars for training and further education in the field of surface technology.
Since 2013, Erich Arnet has also been a member of the scientific advisory board for the journal "Galvanotechnik", which is published by Leuze Verlag.
