BASF has expanded its Automotive Coatings Application Center at the Coatings Technology Center in Mangalore, India. It is an important part of BASF's existing research and development (R&D) facilities for automotive coatings. The Automotive Coatings Application Center covers an area of 400 square meters and is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, including high-precision air-conditioned spray booths and electrostatic rotary bell atomizers as well as a modern quick-connect system for electrostatic painting. The facility has been specially designed for customer-oriented R&D activities as well as for the faithful simulation of OEM paint stores.

BASF also operates Automotive Coatings Application Centers in Shanghai, China, Totsuka, Japan and Bangpoo, Thailand in the Asia Pacific region.
