The H2Eco Award will be presented for the first time this year at HANNOVER MESSE. Technical innovation, economic efficiency and entrepreneurship as well as the contribution to climate protection are the main evaluation criteria. An independent jury of high-caliber hydrogen experts from politics, business, research and society will select a winner from the submissions.
Companies whose projects and concepts are exemplary in their use of industrial hydrogen production are eligible to apply. These innovative projects should pave the way for the ramp-up of the green hydrogen market economy and inspire the industry with their pioneering role. Participation is free of charge.
The award ceremony will take place on May 31, 2022 as part of HANNOVER MESSE 2022 on the stage of the Energy 4.0 Forum under the patronage of Robert Habeck, Federal Minister of Economics and Climate Protection. The prize is endowed with 5,000 euros.
"With this new award, we are honoring the hydrogen economy. At HANNOVER MESSE, we have been offering the largest European platform for the hydrogen and fuel cell industry for years. More than 200 companies present solutions for a sustainable energy supply using hydrogen from renewable energies in the Hydrogen+Fuel Cells Europe exhibition area," says Dr. Jochen Köckler, Chairman and CEO of Deutsche Messe AG.
"German industry is facing one of the biggest transformation processes. Green hydrogen is essential in the energy industry and in industrial applications in order to achieve the climate targets in a sustainable, affordable and secure way. With the H2Eco Award, DWV annually honors a company that has made a significant contribution to the ramp-up of the future hydrogen market economy," adds Werner Diwald, Chairman of the DWV Executive Board.
