The year 2020 is for the Super. Schnellen. Schlosser from Waldneukirchen a special one. The company was founded 40 years ago. Since then, Hartl Metall has grown steadily and was handed over to the next generation in 2011. With an annual turnover of six million euros, the modern locksmith for trade and industry is now an established player on the Upper Austrian metal technology market.

It was July 1, 1980, when Günther Hartl founded his own metalworking shop. Together with his heavily pregnant wife Maria, he took the plunge into self-employment. The first company location was Neuzeug, before the young company moved to Waldneukirchen a year later. One employee and one apprentice were employed at Hartl Metall at the time - the only tools: a forge and a hammer. These were used to produce true works of art: wrought-iron gates with ornate decorations, doors, stair railings and window grilles. The hard work quickly paid off: orders and employees increased, the production range expanded and the foundation was laid for business relationships that still exist today.

Steel construction successes since 1985

In 1985, Hartl Metall received its first challenging steel construction order, laying the foundation for the steel construction and industrial technology divisions. "Taking things into our own hands was part of our nature as an up-and-coming company. Sometimes I simply asked on construction sites whether a fitter was needed - and shortly afterwards I had the next order in my pocket," recalls company founder Günther Hartl.

The second generation at the helm

Monika and Martin Hartl took over the company in 2011, having both worked in their father's business for four years. After completing the HTL for structural and civil engineering, a degree in production and management and training as a welding technologist, the new managing director Martin Hartl was ideally equipped to take over the company. His sister Monika, a trained business psychologist, took over the HR and controlling agendas. Among other things, the two siblings introduced 3D planning, a digital production control system and CNC-controlled processing machines. Since 2015, the focus has clearly been on industrial and commercial customers. As a "modern locksmith for trade and industry", the company lives up to its credo of "Super. Fast. Locksmith."
This also includes modern employee communication management. The digital platform CORE smartwork has been in use at Hartl Metall for two years in order to optimally network its 40 colleagues. "A key success factor at Hartl Metall is the family atmosphere and appreciation of our employees. Together, we have achieved a lot in 40 years and the next projects are already in the starting blocks," says Martin Hartl on this special day.
