Hot-dip galvanizing industry association

At the Hot Dip Galvanizing 2024 industry event in Cologne, Forster Verkehrs- und Werbetechnik received the 11th Innovation and Sustainability Award from the Hot Dip Galvanizing Industry Association. Their project "PV-Süd" was honored. The jury justified the award as follows: "The PV-Süd project shows how the integration of photovoltaic technology on traffic areas enables sustainable energy generation while making effective use of existing infrastructures. Hot-dip galvanized steel, which is ideal for such projects due to its durability and corrosion resistance, was used. The innovative road canopy with integrated photovoltaic modules is considered a pioneering model for energy generation and infrastructure development." Prof. Dr. Markus Oeser accepted the award on behalf of the consortium. The Water Foundation was also awarded the first ever prize for sustainable development for its CloudFisher. Dr. Beate Gratehans accepted the award. "The project uses fog collection technology to provide clean drinking water in arid regions. The robust construction made of hot-dip galvanized steel protects the systems from extreme weather conditions and corrosive environmental influences. CloudFisher is already being used successfully in countries such as Peru, Bolivia, Tanzania and Morocco, where it supplies local communities with vital water," the jury explained. In his speech, Martin Kopf emphasized: "The award-winning projects embody our industry's commitment to sustainability, innovation and social responsibility. We are proud to be able to support and honor such pioneering initiatives."
