Klaus-Jürgen Bahr celebrated his 80th birthday on February 25, 2020. His father was a farrier and wagon smith from Sensburg/East Prussia. Klaus-Jürgen Bahr was born and grew up in Essen. He began an apprenticeship as an electroplater with H. G. Preussler in his home town in 1955. From 1961 to 1963, he attended the technical college for metal design and metal technology in Solingen, from which he graduated as a state-certified electroplating technician.
He also passed the master craftsman's examination in electroplating and metal grinding in 1963. His first job was at the Erno company in Heiligenhaus, after which he joined Metallwerk Frese in Leichlingen as electroplating manager and trainer. In 1974, Klaus-Jürgen Bahr took over the management and development management at Galvanochemie Dr. Dettner.
In 1980, Technochem was founded as Im- und Expert GmbH. In the early years, he was active in the DG (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Galvanotechnik e. V.).
Klaus-Jürgen Bahr enjoys nature, especially the North Sea. He is interested in electroplating art, GalvoArt as well as technical developments and alternative energy technologies. He has been married for almost 60 years and has a daughter and 3 grandchildren.
