The plastics school is online. The digital learning space, which is currently occupied by a small taster seminar, invites all interested parties to get an impression of the virtual format for themselves.
Digital learning has been a major topic in the German economy, and not just since the ongoing shortage of skilled workers and progressive digitalization. A study by the Competence Center for Securing Skilled Workers (KOFA) at the German Economic Institute (IW) on the state of digital education in Germany shows that e-learning offerings are becoming increasingly important for companies. In addition to the increasingly appreciated freedom of time and place, digital learning media would also train employees' IT skills. This is a not insignificant point in the digitization change process and can explicitly support companies in this respect.
The Kunststoff-Institut Lüdenscheid has been focusing on training and further education for decades. In addition to its own training center with over 250 seminars, the Polymer Training Center with its technical infrastructure is available to partners from the industry. The previous range of qualifications was complemented by in-house seminars and company-specific training courses.
With the new e-learning offer, the Kunststoff Institut is setting an innovative example in the education sector. With the Plastics School, it is actively addressing the emerging needs of the economy for more flexibility and digitalization expertise and offering a supplement to the previous training methods.
The future e-learning seminars will have a more compact structure than the face-to-face seminars. The focus will be on visualizing the content, e.g. through small animations and video sequences.

with the Plastics School. In addition to the content taught, participants can ask themselves questions and immediately check what they have learned. As with the face-to-face seminars, certificates are also issued for participation in the Plastics School. This provides both the participant and the respective company with proof of the specialist knowledge gained.
