For three decades, the Qubus Group and the Institute for Surface Technology (IFO) have been offering services from a single source for surface technology companies. The spectrum ranges from planning and plant construction to environmental and energy management, independent laboratory analysis, expert opinions and research.
The group now has over 100 employees and more than 4,000 customers in 75 countries and locations in Germany, the United Arab Emirates, China and the Netherlands. What began in 1995 with the idea of four surface specialists has developed into an internationally recognized network of experts.
Qubus Planung und Beratung Oberflächentechnik GmbH focuses on consulting services relating to management systems, environmental protection and occupational safety, fire protection as well as plant and factory planning.
The IFO Institute, an accredited testing laboratory for coatings and coating systems, carries out material and coating tests, corrosion and climate tests as well as residual dirt analyses in modern laboratories and offers a wide range of testing and expert opinion services, quality assurance and certifications.
Qubus is also behind the planning of Stüken's newCO2-neutral electroplating plant in Rinteln - currently the largest electroplating project in Germany with an investment sum of 29.5 million euros. The company sees potential in functional coating systems, e.g. for hydrogen pipelines, which, according to IFO Managing Director Marc Holz, will play an increasingly important role in the coming years. The group is also planning to expand its business in Eastern Europe and Asia.
