Recognition at the German SME Summit: Ranga Yogeshwar congratulates Rieger Metallveredlung GmbH & Co KG from Steinheim am Albuch on being awarded the TOP 100 seal. The award ceremony took place on Friday, June 28, in Weimar for all SMEs that received the TOP 100 seal at the beginning of the year.

The science journalist is accompanying the innovation competition, which is being held for the 31st time, as a mentor. In the scientific selection process, Rieger Metallveredlung was particularly convincing in size category A (up to 50 employees) in the category "Innovation-promoting top management". The published TOP 100 company portrait states: "Rieger is a service provider in the field of surface technology and electroplating. (...) The company is led by a three-person management team. This consists of the Managing Director Franz Rieger, the Commercial Director Beate Dimter and the Technical Director Igor Rudel. The three of them meet regularly to discuss and drive forward innovations - such as the consistent digitalization of operating processes or the necessary steps to make the company energy self-sufficient in the future. Although this is currently still a long-term goal to be achieved by 2035, the first steps have already been taken. "We already have climate-neutral certification, but in future we don't just want to buy in green electricity, we also want to produce our own electricity," explains Franz Rieger.

As an entrepreneur, you are well advised to pursue your goals in the long term. "You can't expect every investment to pay for itself in the next year. The decisive factor is that it pays for itself over ten or 20 years," he says.
