With the UMSICHT Science Award, the Fraunhofer Institute for Environmental, Safety and Energy Technology (UMSICHT) honors representatives from science and journalism who make research results on the topics of environmental protection and sustainability accessible to society.
In addition to the prize money of 8,000 euros in the science category, 2,000 euros in the journalism category and the "Innovation" sculpture, the award winners receive access to the network of a recognized research institution.
Thefollowing applies to both prize categories: The work must be published and deal with sustainable topics in the fields of environmental, process or energy technology. Scientific papers must not be older than two years, journalistic papers not older than one year. Both can be submitted in German or English.
