Webinar on industrial dry cleaning and metal pre-treatment

The Bodo Möller Chemie Group is continuing its TechDialog series of seminars and webinars with a webinar broadcast live from the Fritz Henkel Building in Düsseldorf. On October 6, starting at ten o'clock, the webinar entitled "Pretreatments of the latest generation - reducing energy costs in the metal industry" in cooperation with Henkel Adhesive Technologies will cover modern methods for achieving greater efficiency and flexibility with the Adhesion Promoter No Rinse process. A second session at 11 a.m. will focus on energy savings with modern nanoceramic conversion coatings. The free TechDialog webinar is aimed at the metalworking industry, manufacturers and coaters from the sector.

"In light of the global crises, companies are currently looking at all possible ways to save energy. While companies are putting their employees on short-time working or cutting back production, we want to show industrial ways of reducing energy requirements while maintaining the highest production quality," says Bernhard Vreden, Key Account Manager at Bodo Möller Chemie and moderator of the two sessions. Modernizing production with little effort is therefore an alternative for many companies. This includes retrofitting the pre-treatment process from iron/zinc phosphating to New Generation Coatings, including the APNR process. The Adhesion Promoter No Rinse process is energy-saving and cost-effective and also increases the corrosion protection performance of metal pre-treatments with less waste. At the end of the pre-treatment process, the adhesion promoter or conversion coating is atomized onto the parts and no longer needs to be rinsed afterwards - this saved process step saves energy and resources. The half-hour webinar will use practical examples to show how the process, which has been offered by Henkel since 2017, can be implemented.

In the second session, the focus will be on the products in the Bonderite M-NT series with nano technology and C-AK, which are used for degreasing and can also be used in the low-temperature process. Solutions for optimum drying and the required temperature for the subsequent process steps will also be discussed in the webinar. The experts in the studio set up especially for the event will demonstrate the processes in practical tests and offer all participants assistance with their own production challenges. "In addition to environmental protection, the current situation is also bringing energy savings to the fore. Processes that work at low temperatures actively save energy, and the phosphate-free products can be used in a variety of ways for ferrous metals, aluminum or zinc, thus saving expensive set-up times. The subsequent paint adhesion and corrosion protection are optimized. If the baths have to be disposed of, the costs are also lower, as the sludge input is significantly lower," explains Andreas Moser, Director Growth & Globalization at the Bodo Möller Chemie Group.
