"wire" and "tube" are moved

Messe Düsseldorf is postponing the world's leading trade fairs "wire" and "Tube" to June 20 to 24, 2022, in coordination with the partners and associations involved. The current high infection rate and the rapidly spreading coronavirus have led to adjustments in the Düsseldorf trade fair calendar, making it necessary to postpone wire and Tube, which were originally scheduled to take place from May 9 to 13.

The new period offers more planning security and additional added value thanks to "Metav", which is partly taking place at the same time. The leading trade fair for metalworking technologies has already been postponed by the VDW (German Machine Tool Builders' Association) to June 21 to 24.

Wolfram N. Diener, President and CEO of Messe Düsseldorf, emphasizes the industry's support for the new date: "The tenor of our exhibitors is: We want and need wire and Tube - and at a time that promises the best possible prospects of success. Together with the partners and associations involved, we see early summer as the ideal time for this. Not only do we expect the number of infections to be lower, we also expect more people to be able to enter and participate. This will allow exhibiting companies and visitors to do their business in a situation that is significantly less affected by Covid-19."

wire and Tube are the No. 1 international trade fairs for their industries, have global appeal and require particularly long lead times. Traditionally, two thirds of all exhibiting companies travel to Düsseldorf from abroad every two years.

Trade visitors from over 80 countries meet at the Düsseldorf Exhibition Center at peak times. The new trade fair date from June 20 to 24, 2022 therefore now provides these industries with clear planning security.

Bernd Jablonowski, Vice President of Messe Düsseldorf's Metals and Flow Technologies portfolio, is confident: "Planning security for exhibitors, visitors and the entire trade fair industry is the most important thing in the ongoing pandemic situation. By moving the two top events in the industry to early summer, we are enabling a safe live trade fair experience adapted to the situation."

Daniel Ryfisch, Project Director wire and Tube, adds: "I would like to thank our exhibitors and partners for their understanding and their willingness to join us from June 20 to 24 to make wire and Tube the industry highlights they have been for more than 30 years in Düsseldorf."

The exhibitors at wire will present their technological highlights in Halls 9 to 15, the Tube exhibitors in Halls 1 to 7a.

The guest event Metav, International Trade Fair for Metalworking Technologies, will take place from June 21 to 24, 2022 in Halls 16 and 17. Metav is organized and staged by the VDW.
