A prerequisite for the flawless coating of workpieces in the CDP process is appropriate pre-treatment. For example, surface impurities such as scale, weld glazing etc. or even oils and greases must be thoroughly removed in order to produce a high-quality coating. With the continuous blast cleaning system now ready for use at the Hagenbach site, Oftec Oberflächentechnik GmbH & Co KG, a company in the Ebbinghaus Group, now offers optimum conditions for offering component cleaning for large series as well. The system works with the PantaTec process, a combination of degreasing and blasting, so that the usual wet-chemical pre-cleaning can be omitted.
The components to be cleaned are placed on a wire belt, which moves through the system at a defined speed. In the blasting chamber, the components are blasted from four sides with cast steel to which a powdered degreasing agent is automatically added. The cleaned components are removed from the outlet hopper, checked and excess blasting agent is removed using compressed air. Finally, the components are coated in the cathodic dip coating system. Components made of steel and cast iron measuring up to 2,500 mm x 1,250 mm x 500 mm (LxWxH) can be processed in the continuous blasting system. The use of cast steel as an abrasive is particularly suitable for removing scale, dirt, oxide layers, rust, etc. It also ensures low consumption and high productivity, with uniform blasting and cleaning performance and low system wear. The system can be operated with different intensities, which means that customer wishes and the requirements of different components can be taken into account.
