New project manager at Deutsche Messe AG. He is responsible for the Surface Technology and parts2clean trade fairs - Interview: Robert Piterek

Mr. Randjbar-Moshtaghin, you recently took over from trade fair project manager Christoph Nowak at Surface Technology and parts2clean. What experience do you have with trade fair organization so far?

I'm actually a career changer and was self-employed until recently and got to know trade fairs from the exhibitor and visitor side. In this respect, I am delighted to be switching sides now, so to speak, and planning trade fairs from a different perspective. The first few weeks on board at Deutsche Messe are therefore a real treasure trove of experience, contacts and many conversations that will gradually bring me into the world of trade fairs and allow me to participate. That's the only way to learn.

What goals are you pursuing at these two important trade fairs for surface technology?

Trade fairs are developed together with the relevant sectors and their players, our customers. I'm currently listening a lot, asking questions and getting an initial picture. As a team, we will work out in due course how we can integrate my observations into both trade fairs in order to get the best out of them for the future.

"Trade fairs are developed with the industry and its players!"

Can you already tell us what we can expect at parts2clean in October?

Visitors can look forward to highly motivated exhibitors from Germany and abroad, who are constantly facing up to the challenges of technical cleanliness and will be presenting efficient, future-oriented and sustainable solutions for all parts cleaning tasks at parts2clean. Regardless of the material from which the workpieces to be cleaned are made and whether it is a deburring, pre-cleaning, intermediate cleaning, final cleaning or high-purity application. Another highlight is the p2c.expert forum, which will feature exciting presentations on all three days of the trade fair. There will be presentations on current topics and processes from the field of industrial parts and surface cleaning as well as on future-oriented technologies, trends and the latest scientific findings. These include, for example, sustainability and the circular economy, topics that continue to occupy and challenge the industry. The highlight topic of "High Purity" should also be emphasized, which will once again play a central role this year, as high-purity cleaning is an indispensable part of modern industrial processes. While the last event focused on the basics and most important aspects such as the production chain and environment, this time the focus will be on application-specific aspects under the motto "High Purity. Next Chapter", the focus is increasingly on application-specific factors and criteria. Of course, the topic will also be covered in its own presentation slot at the specialist forum. But I don't want to give any more away now, everything else will be available on site, in October, at parts2clean.

And what about Surface Technology? Are the plans for this already underway and what do they look like?

Planning for SurfaceTechnology 2026 has indeed already started and we are in contact with many of our exhibitors as well as future exhibitors. We are also in close contact with our partners, the German Surface Technology Association (ZVO) and the VDMA, about how we can focus Surface Technology even more on the needs of the industry. Trade fairs are not only a reflection of the industry, they also have the task of promoting professional exchange, bringing people together and thus offering solutions.
