Mek (Marantz Electronics) has launched VeriSpector, an AOI system for manual and semi-automatic SMD and THT assembly stations. Although the system is optimized for PCB assembly tasks, it is also suitable for use in other disciplines.
The VeriSpector enables the inspection of components, including presence, orientation, shape, offset, text, color and barcode reading. The maximum size of the PCB or object to be inspected is 750 x 500 mm; the minimum size is 460 x 300 mm when using the maximum zoom setting of the lens.
A 24 MP camera with a high-resolution lens for capturing fine details ensures sharp, clear resolution. Options to upgrade to 42 Mp or 60 Mp cameras are available depending on the application requirements. The resolution can be increased if a PCB size smaller than the maximum size of 750 × 500 is required. Detected defects can be indicated by red circles on a PCB map or by NG images.
The overhead orthogonal camera and LED lighting system are color and glare optimized, allowing the operator to perform assembly work under normal lighting conditions. VeriSpector is powered by Mek 22X AOI software on Apple Mac and is fully compatible with Mek 22X AOI products such as SpectorBOX. The AOI station is supplied complete as an easy to assemble package.
