The EVO Cam II digital microscope from Vision Engineering has been equipped with a number of additional features. A module is now available that enables depth-of-field images to be taken very easily using several automatic image captures. This reduces inspection time and makes the workflow more productive. Cross-departmental decisions are accelerated.

The new depth of field module compensates for a lack of optical depth of field by combining several individual images of different focal planes. A completely sharp resulting image is calculated and displayed using software from the differently sharp image and focus planes. Images are generated with details that would normally remain hidden. Other new product features include unique lens calibration for measurements across the entire zoom range, a customizable zoom range, simple image comparison and improved and simplified administrator settings. -dir/vti-
