Together for Composable Enterprise in factories

Members of the Smart Electronic Factory (SEF) association want to work together to make the field of Composable Enterprise accessible to industrial companies. IT integration, application development and process automation are to be mapped on a single platform. The new SEF member Scheer PAS has a key role to play.

Disruptive trends and technologies, new types of competitors and short-term market changes are placing new demands on production. Companies today need to be agile and fast. Scheer PAS, a new member of the 'SEF Smart Electronic Factory e. V.' association, supports companies from the industrial manufacturing sector in quickly and easily automating processes and successfully implementing Industry 4.0 scenarios, among other things. Together with members of the Industry 4.0 initiative SEF, the company aims to make the field of Composable Enterprise accessible to industrial companies.

"We are convinced that digitalization only brings added value when people, processes and systems work together optimally. It is not enough to digitize manual activities. Sustainable effects for companies can only result from the meaningful interaction of these three components," explains Robert Müller, CEO of Scheer PAS Deutschland GmbH.

Among other things, the initiative is based on the Composable Enterprise principle. It describes how a company must be structured at all levels in order to remain adaptable and resilient. To implement this, the company has developed its own Scheer PAS Application Composition Platform. It orchestrates independently developed programs, data and devices for a new holistic solution that none of the previously available applications could map alone. This makes it possible to combine IT integration, application development and process automation and to merge information from the various systems and make it accessible.

As a result, Industry 4.0 use cases can be implemented quickly, efficiently and holistically. Among other things, the platform enables customers to automate manufacturing processes and integrate production systems and IoT data on an innovative platform to increase their level of digitalization.

In order to make such solutions widely accessible to industrial companies, the platform provider is involved in various consortia - for example as a new member of the SEF. The Industry 4.0 initiative of research institutions and well-known companies aims to jointly pave the way for digitization for industrial SMEs.

The SEF Smart Electronic Factory e. V. was founded in 2015. Industry 4.0 scenarios and applications are developed and tested under real production conditions at the Smart Electronic Factory, an electronics factory in Limburg a. d. Lahn.

"One of our aims in participating in the SEF is to transfer know-how between members on the topic of Industry 4.0, as every company has valuable domain knowledge. Together, we want to test and develop new application scenarios in the field of data integration. In doing so, we will create a greater awareness of Composable Enterprise. After all, adaptability is a basic prerequisite for the competitiveness of production companies," explains Robert Müller.
