Announcement IMAPS seminar on March 23, 2023 in Ilmenau

After three years of 'abstinence', IMAPS Germany IMAPS is continuing the tradition of spring seminars. After the 2020 and 2021 seminars had to be canceled due to the pandemic and the 2022 seminar was skipped in favor of the CICMT Vienna with strong commitment from IMAPS Germany, it is now time again.

Spring seminars are always given a current topic as the basis for the presentations and discussions, and speakers with the relevant specialist background are invited. In the past, at various seminar locations between Stuttgart and Berlin, Nuremberg and Rostock, the focus has always been on selected current topics with sometimes provocative questions such as 'Is reliability still affordable?', 'Package: the key to the optimal sensor?!?!' or most recently in 2019 'AVT - also OK in series?

The anchor point of this year's individual topics is sustainability, which the speakers will address from various perspectives. We are meeting in the middle of the country, at the Ilmenau University of Technology. At the host university, the seminar topic fits in with the 'Sustainability theme year' running in 2023. The TU website states: "In 2023 [...] we will focus on projects that pursue novel and resource-saving approaches in energy and medical technology, in industrial production and in computer science [...], but also on research that establishes new methods in our working environment, in climate and energy communication or in the field of digitization." Cf.: www.tu-ilmenau.de/forschung/forschung/themenjahr-2023

Our speakers come from various industries and research institutions and are united by their focus on sustainable topics, be it aspects of electronics production with regard to the materials and processes used to optimize resource consumption or sensor technology, IT and methodology for regulating sustainability-relevant aspects. We have put together the following program for you:

IMAPS Germany, part of the International Microelectronics and Packaging Society (IMAPS), has been the forum in Germany for all those involved in microelectronics and packaging technology since 1973. With almost 300 members, we essentially pursue three important goals:

  • we connect science and practice
  • we ensure the exchange of information among our members and
  • we represent the position of our members in international committees.
