Vishay Intertechnology presents a new AEC-Q200 qualified polypropylene film capacitor developed for DC link applications. Designed for automotive applications in humid environments, the MKP1848Se DC-Link is the first component of its kind to pass the THB ('Temperature Humidity Bias') test at 60 °C/93 % relative humidity and rated voltage for 56 days.
The capacitor is available in 12 standard dimensions with heights of 12 mm, 15 mm, 18 mm and 24 mm. With its low-profile design and high moisture resistance, the radial leaded capacitor is ideally suited for space-constrained automotive applications, including HVAC systems, on-board and inductive battery charging systems, air conditioning systems and motor drives for electric vehicles (EV) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV).
The DC link capacitors of the MKP1848Se series cover the capacitance range from 1 µF to 75 µF and are characterized by low ESR values from 3 mOhm. The RoHS-compliant capacitors offer a high ripple current capability of up to 27 A and are available with rated voltages of 500 VDC, 700 VDC, 900 VDC and 1200 VDC at +85°C. These capacitors are available immediately in sample and production quantities; delivery time is 20 weeks.
