Chemical pilot project for the decarbonization of supply chains

Chemical pilot project for the decarbonization of supply chains

The Together for Sustainability (TfS) initiative - an association of 47 chemical companies worldwide - wants to demonstrate the exchange of data on thecarbon footprint of products in a pilot project.

Siemens is a partner with the Sigreen solution, which is required for the management and tracking of theCO2 footprint of products (Product Carbon Footprint, PCF). The partners are pursuing the goal of demonstrating the scalability of PCF data exchange across an entire industry. Sigreen will be tested and provide insights into the exchange of PCF data in the chemical industry. In the next step, Sigreen can be extended to all TfS members, helping to further enhance their expertise as pioneers in PCF. The aim is to enable companies to meet the Scope 3 challenge of the chemical industry. PCF data is exchanged securely and reliably along the supply chain and combined with data from the company's own value chain to createcarbon footprints. This also enables companies to take quantifiable reduction measures. The upstream supply chain accounts for up to 90% of emissions - and Sigreen enables integration along the value chain.
