The Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI) and KfW have set up grant programs for the installation of new charging stations for electric cars in non-public areas of companies and municipalities as of November 23, 2021.
Funding is provided for the procurement and installation of charging stations for electric vehicles at parking spaces that are not accessible to the public for charging commercially or municipally used electric vehicles (fleet vehicles and car-sharing vehicles) and for charging electric vehicles belonging to employees. Private and municipal companies, sole traders, freelancers, chambers and associations, non-profit companies and churches are eligible to apply. The grant amounts to 70% of the total eligible costs (purchase, connection and installation), but is limited to a maximum of 900 euros per charging point. A prerequisite for the subsidy is that 100% of the electricity used for the charging process comes from renewable energy sources. This can be obtained via a corresponding electricity supply contract and/or from on-site generation, for example from a photovoltaic system.
