React before the light goes outv

With the EU regulation "Ecodesign requirements for light sources", the ban on the sale of T8 fluorescent lamps and halogen lamps (G9/G4 and GY6.35) is a done deal from September 2023. Companies that still use fluorescent tubes for the basic lighting of their halls and rooms will be forced to switch from this date.

In concrete terms, this means that existing, fully functional lighting systems will have to be dismantled and replaced. Those who act immediately can save money. Depending on the size of the system, the investment costs are amortized after just two to four years. If you switch to LED in good time, you may have already repaid the costs by 2023. A real-life project example implemented by euroLux for Airbus shows just how big the savings are. The lighting service provider optimized a system with an original energy consumption of 555 megawatt hours per year by 66%. Instead of annual energy costs of 83,160 euros plus maintenance costs of 10 euros per year, the new system requires almost no maintenance and the energy costs are now 28,350 euros. At the same time, euroLux achieved an improvement in illuminance from the original 500 lux to 800 lux.

Prompt conversion is particularly worthwhile because it is currently being subsidized by the state. Companies of all sizes, associations and local authorities are entitled to subsidies for converting to LED.
