H2O, a company based in Steinen (Wiesental), aims to reduce itsCO2 emissions by more than half this year with a series of measures. The measures include the installation of a photovoltaic system on the extension building, which was completed in 2020, and the purchase of two electric vehicles.
The environmental impact of business travel, especially air travel, is also being reduced by offering more virtual business meetings and webinars. Resources are being saved in the building itself. For example, by installing aerators on the taps, which leads to a saving of around 50 percent at that point.
And on the customer side: technologies launched on the market in 2020, such as the ZLD post-concentrator, gave even more customers wastewater-free production. In 2020, customers treated a total of around 3,056,400 m³ of water. Since the beginning of Vacudest's history, around 22,550,000 m³ of industrial wastewater has been treated - roughly the size of Lake Titisee in the Black Forest.
