- teco cw series cools water down to 0 °C without the addition of glycol
- No warm exhaust air thanks to connection to the machine cooling system
- Fast service thanks to established components
gwk Gesellschaft Wärme Kältetechnik mbH has launched a new mobile water-cooled teco cw unit series. The cw units are connected to the machine cooling system in the same way as a temperature control unit. This eliminates the need for the warm exhaust air that is usually generated by the air-cooled compact chillers frequently used in the hall. In contrast to conventional cooling units, a cw unit can also generate a cold water temperature of 0 degrees Celsius without adding antifreeze to the water.
Often, cold water is not required at all production machines, but only at individual consumers. In this case, it is not worth having a central cooling supply and the high cost of piping. In such cases, users still rely on mobile, air-cooled compact chillers. The disadvantage of this method is that additional heat is introduced into the production hall via the chiller's exhaust air. This is particularly annoying in the warmer months of the year.
gwk teco cw is connected to the machine cooling system
The mobile units are equipped with the tried-and-tested control system and other established components from gwk's teco c series. According to the manufacturer, this means that users benefit from fast and trouble-free servicing in the event of problems thanks to the use of identical spare parts.
The most significant difference is the temperature range. While temperature control units in the teco c series generally supply hot water, the teco cw unit supplies cold water. All devices have a leak-stop function and the option of draining the mold. Users can also connect the devices to the production machine via serial interfaces.
Water temperatures between 0 and 25°C without the addition of glycol
In contrast to conventional cooling units, a gwk cw unit generates a cold water temperature of up to 0 degrees Celsius without adding an antifreeze agent such as glycol to the water. Even a comparatively high water temperature of 25 degrees Celsius cannot be easily achieved with conventional appliances.
Cooling and pump capacity designed for plastics processing
The performance of the pumps is specially designed to meet the needs of plastics processing. Flow rates of max. 60 l/min and pump pressures of max. 3.5 bar or 5.8 bar are available. The cooling capacities of up to 4 kW or 10 kW are optimized for use on a production machine.
The teco cw units are also characterized by an optimized refrigeration circuit with very small refrigerant charge quantities, which means that they are exempt from the legally prescribed regular leak tests. The water-cooled design eliminates the usual fan and thus a not inconsiderable source of noise.
