KBR: Power quality in electroplating: The invisible cause of faults

The bathrooms are running - so the quality of the electricity grid is good? The impression is often deceptive. Interfering mains feedback remains invisible and only becomes apparent through symptoms: overheated transformers, unstable PLC controls, flickering light or fluctuating component quality.

Rectifiers and pulsed current sources in electroplating in particular cause interference such as harmonics, reactive power and flicker. These effects put a strain on the power grid and jeopardize the production reliability, efficiency and service life of electrical components.

KBR EnergyManagement makes the cause of such disturbances visible. With mobile Class A measurements or permanent monitoring, you can bring transparency to your grid quality. Based on this, you receive specific recommendations for action and solutions: from correct dimensioning and power factor correction to active and passive filters.

Meet us at the ZVO Surface Days in Berlin: Enrico Trautvetter will show you the way to sustainable grid quality - from analysis and PQ monitoring to grid filters. For stable processes, higher system availability and reliably consistent quality.
