Dust-free, efficient and safe: Comprehensive vacuum technology for battery production.
Process safety and efficiency have top priority in battery production. The issue of dust management is of particular importance. After all, the fine dust produced poses a considerable risk to people, machines and the end product. To effectively counter these risks, cleaning equipment specialist Nilfisk presented an innovative portfolio of third party-certified industrial vacuum cleaners tailored to the specific requirements of battery production at this month's Battery Show Europe trade fair in Stuttgart.
In battery production, process safety and efficiency have the highest priority.
The industry professional therefore shares the battery manufacturers' commitment to a cleaner future and is positioning itself as a holistic solution provider. The declared aim is to increase production performance and process safety as part of a zero-defects strategy. In addition to stationary suction systems, the focus of the trade fair presentation will be on the new VHS010 mini industrial vacuum cleaner for confined and hard-to-reach areas with the highest occupational safety requirements and the VHS110. As a GMP-compliant industrial vacuum cleaner, the latter demonstrates its strengths particularly in cleanroom environments.
Battery production application

Efficient dust management is a key success factor in mastering this balancing act. After all, when lithium batteries seem to ignite spontaneously, this is often due to the smallest impurities during production. Even a tiny metal chip trapped in a battery cell can lead to a serious defect. Certified extraction solutions for the collection of combustible and hazardous dust are therefore essential. Professional extraction technology is also indispensable in terms of occupational health and safety. The dust concentration in the room air plays a particularly important role here - powerful extraction systems, innovative filter systems and well thought-out disposal concepts are therefore crucial.
With customized extraction solutions, all types of contamination risks along the value chain can be removed to protect product integrity, increase uptime and efficiency and thus achieve production targets. The ultimate goal is always to protect people, products and equipment from hazardous dust and safety risks.
The mobile VHS010 covers all safety aspects
Nilfisk develops customized vacuum technology that can be seamlessly integrated into the respective operating processes. In Stuttgart, the cleaning equipment specialists will be showcasing the latest market launch from the Mini IVS series. The mobile VHS010 covers all safety aspects, even in ATEX22 zones or non-classified ACD zones, when handling hazardous dusts as well as flammable and explosive substances. The VHS010 is particularly effective in confined production areas or as a supplement to larger vacuum cleaners. It offers safety, flexibility and high suction power, even in areas with limited maneuverability. With a maximum height of 830 millimeters, the device is very compact and can even reach hard-to-reach areas. The vacuum cleaner can pick up 15 or 30 kilograms of hazardous or conductive material. Working comfort is also one of the system's strengths.
The VHS010 is quiet (maximum 72 decibels), lightweight (up to 21 kilograms) and easy to transport. The vacuum cleaner has all the necessary third-party certifications and is equipped with a large HEPA H14 filter. This makes it particularly suitable for picking up hazardous, conductive metal dust.
Safety in the workplace and guaranteed high suction power: the VHS110
The cleaning equipment specialist's trade fair portfolio also includes the GMP-compliant VHS110 industrial vacuum cleaner. It is particularly suitable for cleanroom environments. Thanks to its compact design and robust stainless steel housing, it is maneuverable and durable. The 37-liter stainless steel container can hold wet, dry or corrosive substances and is easy to clean. The machine offers impressive performance data: 1,000 watts of power, a maximum vacuum of 22 kilopascals and an air flow rate of up to 2,700 liters per minute.
An anti-static M-class star filter and a HEPA H14 filter, which filters very fine dust, ensure optimum filtration. An ULPA-15 upstream filter is also available as an option. To keep performance at a consistently high level, the "Pull-Clean" filter cleaning system ensures that the filters can be cleaned during operation. This keeps performance at a consistently high level while reducing downtime and maintenance costs.
Built-in, powerful and designed for the production environment
Visitors to the show will also experience unique performance in the seamless integration of Nilfisk industrial vacuum cleaners into OEM production equipment used in various process steps such as notching, tab welding and calendering. This capability maximizes uptime and makes the solutions ideal for continuous manufacturing processes - while minimizing energy consumption.
