The Smart Surface Summit 2023 was a great success: for the first time, the most diverse players in surface technology came together at Technopol Wiener Neustadt - across material, industry and technology boundaries - to discuss the major trends and challenges. The high level of interest shown by the participants has resulted in the event going into series production.
The second edition of the Smart Surface Summit aims to increase the range of technologies and participants even further. On October 17, 2024, experts along the entire value chain will once again come together at the TFZ Wiener Neustadt. This is because the importance of functional surfaces and materials is just as great as the challenges facing the industry:
Ever more specific surface properties are to be achieved with ever lower resource consumption. New digital tools and AI provide instruments that generate innovation pressure and new opportunities. The transformation towards a climate-neutral economy requires a drastic reduction inCO2 emissions- but also opens up completely new fields of application, for example in electromobility or the utilization of renewable energy.
The requirements of the circular economy demand that we think about the end of the product life cycle right from the start - the keyword here is "design for circularity". All these burning issues will be addressed at the Surface Summit 2024.
