OTH Managing Director Udo Gensowski is specifically expanding the processing spectrum and positioning the company for the futureTitanium aluminidesare used in aircraft construction, among other things - they are light, resilient and heat-resistant. Pickling these high-performance materials is one of OTH Hagen's special processes. The family business is currently celebrating its 25th anniversary and sees a secure future in specialization - in addition to standard treatments. The second generation is already in the starting blocks. Of course, OTH continues to offer classic surface treatments such as zinc and manganese phosphating or galvanic barrel galvanizing. However, the demand for special processes - such as the pickling of titanium aluminides - is becoming increasingly important: "This special expertise is particularly effective and productive for us. That's why we are expanding our processing range in a targeted manner," emphasizes Managing Director Udo Gensowski. "We have come through the crisis year quite well and are thus positioning ourselves for the future."
Second generation in the starting blocks
The future is also secure in terms of personnel. Katharina Gensowski, daughter of the company founder, is the second generation to join the company. She is well prepared for her entry into company management. The materials scientist has a Master's degree from Ilmenau Technical University and is currently a doctoral candidate at the Fraunhofer Institute ISE in Freiburg.
A new master electroplater will also be starting work at OTH shortly. His main task will be to drive forward technical nickel plating. The focus will be on electrolytic processes with nickel sulphamate, electroless nickel, NiPhos and matt nickel.
The machine park has also been expanded: OTH recently invested in a new rack galvanizing system for the deposition of zinc coatings. The surface specialist uses it to process individual parts and small batches using pulse plating technology. For the 25th anniversary, the course has been set for the future.
