Last year, EOS and AM Solutions, which is part of the Rösler Group, entered into a partnership with the aim of optimizing the process chain in the field of SLS printing (selective laser sintering, polymers). The first joint developments have now been presented at FormNext 2024 in Frankfurt. The common goal of this collaboration is to advance the process chain of additive manufacturing in the SLS sector and thus pave the way for series production. To achieve this, both companies have pooled their expertise and have been working on solutions to automate post-processing and increase cost-effectiveness since last year.
The first result of this collaboration was the presentation in Frankfurt of two machine concepts that are being developed for the new generation of the P3 NEXT polymer printer from EOS. The post-processing solution jointly developed by AM Solutions and EOS for the EOS P3 series, consisting of the D1 and F1 systems, enables a completely closed and efficient process for the series-ready post-processing of SLS components. In addition to an unpacking solution that automatically, economically and reproducibly depowders the components and reduces powder contact for the operator to a minimum, an innovative 2-in-1 solution will also be available that handles the sieving and mixing of the printing powder. This system combines both process steps to save space and costs. A special method is used to produce a high-quality mixture of old and new powder. The mixing ratio can be adjusted individually. This means that industrial batches and even small batches can be produced. The first printing results have been very promising.
