In mid-December, Zorn Maschinenbau GmbH celebrated the topping-out ceremony for the new building in the Himmelreich industrial estate in Stockach with numerous guests and project participants. A 3500m2 production and office building for the construction of special machines and Zorn's own five-axis machining center Zorn microone is being built on a plot of almost 6000m2.
The new building is the first dedicated site for the rapidly growing company, which designs and builds machines for the precise machining of very small parts. Zorn is not only focusing on sustainability and resource conservation during construction. The building is being constructed according to ecological principles. In 2023, the company itself was awarded both the environmental prize of the state of Baden-Württemberg and the climate protection prize of the district of Constance for the energy efficiency of the Zorn microone micromachining center.
What started out as a precision light bulb factory in Stockach developed into the special machine construction division. Zorn has been part of inpotron Schaltnetzteil GmbH in Hilzingen since 2013. The company plans to be in its own building as early as May 2025, in time for the Stockach trade show Himmel und Hölle.
