Cadence has acquired AWR Corporation from National Instruments. NI acquired the subsidiary in 2011. The AWR tools are used for the design of radio frequency, microwave and high frequency analog circuits and systems. Typical applications include mobile devices, navigation and satellite communication systems, antennas of various types (5G, WiFi-6, IoT, etc.), radar systems and RF power devices. The AWR tools are integrated into the Allegro PCB design flow.
To optimize RF electronic design, the solution provides electromagnetic (2.5D and full 3D), linear and non-linear solvers (both frequency and time domain) and layout capabilities, all in a single environment to improve design efficiency. In addition to proprietary analysis tools, interfaces to other simulators such as Spectre, Clarity or others are possible, depending on the needs of the engineers.
