The interplay of energy efficiency and lighting quality is key - regardless of whether the lighting is for warehouses or production halls, a historic old town is to be bathed in pleasant warm white at night, or roads and tunnels need to be safely illuminated for drivers. The compact Osconiq C 2424 high-performance LED from Osram Opto Semiconductors enables a wide range of different luminaire designs, especially for outdoor lighting. It offers a wide color temperature range from cool to warm white and various color rendering indices (CRI). It is also protected against electrostatic voltages of up to 8 kV thanks to an integrated ESD (electrostatic discharge) component.
The housing measures 2.4 x 2.4 x 0.6 mm. The chip or the light-emitting surface of the LED (LES) has a size of 2.1 x 2.1 mm. This particularly compact chip scale package LED achieves high brightness and efficiency values. According to the manufacturer, it impresses with its outstanding service life and robust performance in the application. For luminaire manufacturers, to whom the product is initially aimed, system costs can be significantly reduced with this new LED. This advantage will be passed on to the end user. The Osconiq C 2424 has been specially developed for high-performance applications and is available in three color rendering indices (CRI): 70, 80 and 90. The CRI 70 version achieves 326 lumens at 700 milliamperes with an output of 167 lumens per watt.
