With the introduction of the 1500 V string inverter SG350HX, Chinese photovoltaic specialist Sungrow is offering a solution for PV systems with a maximum output power of 352 kW. Compared to the manufacturer's previous generation, this represents an increase in output power of around 40%. This was made possible by products from Infineon Technologies AG: customized EasyPACK power modules equipped with the latest generation of CoolSiC MOSFETs and CoolSiC diodes as well as the latest Trenchstop chip.
With its DC/AC ratio of up to 1.8, the inverter is highly compatible with 182 mm and 210 mm high-efficiency modules with an input current of 20 A. This makes it possible to use solar modules with a nominal output of 600 W and more. The component works stably even in very weak power grids.
The inverter, which weighs just 110 kg, has twelve MPPTs (Maximum Power Point Tracking) with 40 A. If two string lines are connected to one MPPT, there is no risk of string line reversal. Each of these helps to increase the power density by around 28% compared to the previous generation. Thanks to the intelligent forced air cooling and IP66 protection class, the solution can be installed in harsh environmental conditions.
