The DGO German Society for Electroplating and Surface Technology sees itself as a technological and scientific centre of excellence for the entire industry. Its main focus is on initiating and supporting research projects as a driver for technological innovation and the continuous, modern and contemporary development of industry-specific technologies.

The Centre for Surface Technology was established in December 1986 by leading companies in the electroplating industry, schools, universities, institutes and the city of Schwäbisch Gmünd. Its main objectives are training and further education in the field of surface technology, as well as providing support and advice to companies and individuals. As a recognised further education centre in the field of surface technology, also known as Z.O.G., it offers popular seminars and in-house training courses.

We are driven by a fascination with technology: for more than 165 years, the VDI – Association of German Engineers has been providing important impetus for new technologies and technical solutions, thereby ensuring a better quality of life, a better environment and greater prosperity. With around 130,000 members, the VDI is the largest technical and scientific association in Germany. We speak on behalf of engineers and technology, thereby actively shaping the future. Every year, more than 12,000 volunteer experts work on the latest findings to promote our country as a centre of technology. As the third-largest technical regulatory body, the VDI is a partner to German industry and science.

The ZVO represents the interests of raw material and process chemical suppliers, plant manufacturers, component manufacturers, service providers, coaters and electroplating companies in the German electroplating and surface technology industry. Its member companies are active in the field of surface finishing with metals or metal compounds from liquid process media.

For customer industries, politicians and authorities, the ZVO is the central point of contact for economic, environmental, energy and education policy issues relating to electroplating and surface technology. For technological issues, the German Society for Electroplating and Surface Technology (DGO) provides the expertise of a technical and scientific association.
