The organizers Messe Berlin and gfu Consumer & Home Electronics GmbH announced on 19.05.2021 that IFA 2021 is not feasible due to a lack of secure prospects. This means that the usual physical live event under the Berlin Radio Tower will not take place next September. IFA 2022 is scheduled to take place in Berlin next year from September 2 to 6.
The reason given for this year's cancellation of the world's most important presentation platform for innovations in consumer and home electronics was that for globally active companies presenting at a leading trade fair such as IFA, budgeting several months before the start of the event is absolutely essential. In the current pandemic situation, however, there is a lack of framework conditions that provide a reliable and binding basis for this.
