The boards of ASMPT (ASM Pacific Technology) and Mycronic Group have approved ASMPT's acquisition of Mycronic subsidiary AEi (Automation Engineering, Inc.).
AEi, founded in 1990 and based in Tewksbury, Massachusetts, USA, is a leading provider of active alignment systems for industrial cameras with a focus on the ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) market. The acquisition is in line with ASMPT's expansion strategy and enables the marketing of solutions for automatic and scalable camera modules to global Tier 1 and Tier 2 automotive suppliers. It also gives ASMPT access to the markets for security applications such as drones and LiDAR systems. For its part, AEi can rely on ASMPT's global distribution networks.
