Capacity increase due to demand for power module substrates

The Advanced Electronics Solutions (AES) division of Rogers Corporation (NYSE:ROG) is planning a further investment of several million euros in its site in Eschenbach, Germany. This recent announcement in early April 2022 complements expansion plans previously announced in August 2021 and comes as the company anticipates growing demand for power module substrates. The additional investment will further increase the capacity of curamik AMB (Active Metal Brazed) and DCB (Direct Bonded Copper) substrates. The growing demand is seen in the automotive, renewable energy and industrial market segments.

The first phase of the expansion will go into operation in the second half of 2022. Further capacity increases will follow in the course of 2023. "This investment is a clear demonstration of our commitment to meeting the increasing performance and volume demands of our global customers," says Roger Tushingham - Vice President and General Manager of curamik - and continues, "This capacity expansion will help us meet the expectations of our loyal existing customers, in addition to enabling us to serve the ever-growing customer base in the markets we serve."

This is the latest in a series of double-digit million investments in production capacity and capability at the Eschenbach site. While the other recent investments have focused on advanced AMB capabilities, the current project will increase the capabilities and capacity of the entire curamik portfolio.
